I’d like to request the following records under the FOI act. Virtual wards • The total number of virtual ward beds you had open as of 15 January 2025 • The total number of VW beds, broken down by the different specialties served by those virtual wards • The beds occupancy rate as of 15 January 2025, broken down by specialty Patient initiated follow-up • A list of the specialities for which you offer patient initiated follow-up • The proportion of outpatient attendances discharged to PIFU pathways, as of 15 January 2025 (or the most recent data point – please specify the date if different from 15/1/25). • The names of each technology supplier and the product used by the trust to run its PIFU pathways

1 b. The total number of VW beds, broken down by the different specialties served by those virtual wards

Our response:

Diseases of the circulatory system (ICD-10: I00-I99) – 16 beds

Symptoms, signs and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings not elsewhere classified (ICD-10: R00-R99) – 100 beds

You asked:

1 c. The beds occupancy rate as of 15 January 2025, broken down by specialty

Our response:

Diseases of the circulatory system (ICD-10: I00-I99) – 137%

Symptoms, signs and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings not elsewhere classified (ICD-10: R00-R99) – 135%

2. Patient initiated follow-up

 2 a. A list of the specialities for which you offer patient-initiated follow-up

Our response:

The Trust does not have any outpatient clinics and does not have a patient initiated follow-up service. However, a number of community services keep a referral open for a set period of time after treatment is completed in case the patient requests a follow-up. These community services are MSK Advanced Practitioner, MSK Physio and Podiatry

2 b. The proportion of outpatient attendances discharged to PIFU pathways, as of 15 January 2025 (or the most recent data point – please specify the date if different from 15/1/25)

Our response:

16% of referrals are kept open after treatment is completed for the above community services

2 c. The names of each technology supplier and the product used by the trust to run its PIFU pathways
