Freedom of Information Request – Ref: FOI 054-2025
Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request. Please find our response below.
You asked:
I wish to make a freedom of information request and would be grateful if you could provide the following information:
1. The number of referrals made by your NHS Trust to other authorities – such as the police or social services – when there was a suspicion that a child is a victim of exploitation (sexual, criminal, gang-based grooming) for the years 2010 (or earliest available year of data) – 2024 inclusive.
Our response:
We do not record or report on information in a way that would enable us to provide a response to this question.
You asked:
2. The number of risks assessments conducted on children where there was concern that the had been the victim of child sexual exploitation (using the same timeframe as above).
Our response:
We do not record or report on information in a way that would enable us to provide a response to this question.
You asked:
3. Details of your NHS Trusts’ CSE safeguarding arrangements, including work in multi-agency partnerships.
Our response:
Named nurse attends quarterly Child Exploitation and Missing Subgroup which is Multi Agency chaired by Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership.
Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust safeguarding team attended and contributed to the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership, Children Missing from Home and Care Protocol 2024.
Previous involvement with MACE – Missing and Child Exploitation meeting, however this ended for Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust due to the start up of daily HOTH – Harm Outside of the Home meetings in which the safeguarding team in Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were attending and providing health information which was more timely (daily updates).
Administration within the safeguarding team refers to the multiagency HOTH tracker and updates any clinical records about any child who has been missing for longer than 48hours, places an alert on the records and removes when found.
You asked:
4. The number of staff employed by your NHS Trust who have received training on CSE.
Our response:
Since 2023, our central records show that 35 people have undertaken specialist Child Sexual Exploitation training, although individuals may have undertaken additional training but not shared their training records for central recording.
Overarching principles are included in Child Safeguarding Level 3 and 4, and since 1 January 2024, 774 staff have undertaken this training.
