Freedom of Information Request – Ref: 299-2024

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request. Please find our response below.

You asked:

1. Any records regarding the recreational use of Ketamine in Gloucestershire, including the prevalence of Ketamine use and any services commissioned to address the problem
2. The total number of referrals made to the drug and alcohol services related to, in whole or in part, the consumption of Ketamine, for each calendar year

Our response:

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust do not have records regarding recreational use of Ketamine, we do however provide our staff with a few resources such as basic COMHAD information on substance misuse which include Ketamine addiction, access to the FRANK website. We also provide drug information regarding Ketamine misuse in the Dual Diagnosis training programme, which includes some leaflets: ‘FRANK-Ketamine’Dual Diagnosis booklet’.  Staff are also encouraged to contact the Gloucestershire alcohol and substance misuse service for specialist advice, when needed.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust are not commissioned to provide Drugs and Alcohol Services, as such do not have teams that provide such services and therefore cannot answer your second question. In Gloucestershire this service is provided by V-I-A Addiction Recovery Services in Gloucestershire | VIA who may be able to answer your question.
