Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request. Please find our response below.
1. Please can you tell me how many cases of
hospital-acquired Covid-19 the Trust has
had since 1st March 2020 to the present
day. Please break this down by probable
and definite nosocomial infections if this
data is available.
Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS FT GHC.
report the actual numbers to NHS England and
NHS Improvement. Therefore, this data is already
in the public domain as we report COVID-19
probable/definite/deaths in the Quality
Dashboard/Trust Papers.
I can confirm that GHC have reported their data to
NHSE/I and the data can be found on their
website.

2. Please also give me the number of deaths
from hospital acquired Covid-19 infections
probable and definite cases.. If you are
able, in each case, please can you tell me
if you informed the patient’s relative that it
was a hospital acquired infection?
There is an on-going specific piece of work around
Duty of Candour and hospital acquired Covid-19
probable and definite. cases. From 1st July 2020
we have identified 16 people who sadly died after
acquiring COVID-19 probable and definite. whilst
in one of our hospitals. We are in the process of
fulfilling our Duty of Candour duties and to date
have informed relatives in 13 of these cases. We
aim to complete the remaining 3 by the end of
October 2021.
