Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request. Please find our response below.
Notes: Data for 2018/19 and 2019/20 is from the 136 assessment records within the electronic patient
records.
Prior to this the electronic patient record only recorded the number of referrals received, and not details
of the assessments. So data for 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 shows number of referrals received for
a s136 assessment and where the patient was admitted to a GHC inpatient unit within 36 hours of
referral.
As outcome of assessment is not recorded electronically for 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18, Q3 is
unable to be answered for these years.

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Mental Health Act office.
Please can you provide me with:
1. The number of people that are detained on a section 136 of the Mental Health Act that are either known to your Trust or in receipt of services such as care coordination/case management on an annual basis during the period 2015- 2020.
2. The number of people detained under a section 136 of the Mental Health Act that are then admitted to inpatient care either informally or under a section of the Mental Health Act during the period 2015 -2020
3. The number of people detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act where there is no further intervention or service provided during the period 2015-2020
If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request.
If you can identify any ways that my request could be refined I would be grateful for any further advice and assistance.
