1: The number of referrals in to your neurodevelopmental services for children and young
people for 2017, 2021 and 2022.
2: The average wait in weeks for a first assessment/appointment within your
neurodevelopmental services for children and young people for 2017, 2021 and 2022.
3: The number of children and young people waiting for a neurodevelopmental assessment as
of the date of this request or the nearest available date please.
4: The number of children and young people referred to your neurodevelopmental services who
were discharged without an assessment or treatment for 2017, 2021 and 2022 please.
5: The longest wait in weeks of any CYP awaiting a first appointment with your
neurodevelopmental services as of the date of this request or nearest available date.
If you do not offer neurodevelopmental assessments please could you tell me who does in your
area.
Thank you for your request regarding information on neurodevelopmental services. The
information provided below is for services that Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS
Foundation Trust GHC. children and young people’s mental health service CYPMHS.
delivers. Up to and including 2021 the service provided was for 0 to 5 year olds. In 2022
the service was expanded to include 0 to 11 year olds. For this reason, we do not
recommend comparing the data for 2017 and 2021 to the data for 2022. An over 11s
service started to be implemented in December 2022 and has not been included in the
figures below. This is because there are no figures for 2017 and 2021 as the over 11’s
neuro offer was included within the generic CAMHS team. and a very small number of
referrals in 2022.
Whole years refer to the calendar year January to December.

Due to the way that the information was recorded between 2017 and 2021, we do not
have reliable data to answer this question. For 2022 the average wait was 49 weeks.

assessment as of the date of this request or the nearest available date please.
On 9 May 2023 1,164 individuals were waiting for screening to agree the most
appropriate source of support. This may not be a neurodevelopmental assessment.
4: The number of children and young people referred to your neurodevelopmental
services who were discharged without an assessment or treatment for 2017, 2021 and
2022 please.
Due to the way that the information is recorded, we do not have reliable data to answer
this question.
5: The longest wait in weeks of any CYP awaiting a first appointment with your
neurodevelopmental services as of the date of this request or nearest available date.
The longest wait for a referral waiting for an assessment on 9 May 2023 is 130 weeks
from their referral date.
