You asked:

1. How many clinical coders are employed by the Trust?

Our response:

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust do not employ clinical coders within our organisation.

You asked:

2. Who is responsible for the clinical coding team and who does that individual report into?
3. What did the Trust spend on external coding support in the 2023-2024 financial year?
4. What is the current coding backlog?
6. How many vacancies does the Trust currently have for clinical coding staff?

Our response:

We are unable to provide answers to these questions as we do not employ clinical coders within our organisation.

You asked:

5. How many Finished Consultant Episodes does the Trust complete per year?

Our response:

At our physical health sites for 2023/24 we had a total of 1911 finished consultant episodes (1102 Spells)
In 2024/25 to date (Apr – Oct) there have been 1076 finished consultant episodes (1052 Spells)
