Starlight Children’s Foundation uses the power of play to make the experience of illness and treatment better for children and their families in hospital. We support children, families, and health professionals to make moments of escape for those who need it most. I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information to help us build a profile of the ‘state of play’ in hospital. This will support Starlight effectively and proactively target and deliver our services to hospitals that most need it. If you are part of a group hospital model, we would like you to return data for each hospital provider who cares for babies, children, and young people. I would like to know for each hospital in your Trust, including the following departments: · Accident and Emergency · Outpatient · Diagnostic · Phlebotomy · Day case · Surgical Units · Inpatient Units · Neonatal Units Between 1st April 2021 and 31st March 2022, for each hospital: 1. The name of the hospital and their wards/departments that provide services to 0–17-year-olds 2. The number of admissions for 0–17-year-olds 3. A breakdown of the ethnicity, gender, and deprivation percentiles of 0–17-year-olds admitted 4. The number of 0–17-year-olds treated on an adult ward/bed and reason e.g., patient choice, bed shortages etc.. I would also like to know for each hospital: 5. Which Directorates. does the Play Teams. sit in? 6. The number of the following roles, salary band, and approximately how many hours do they work per week? GHC has no inpatient wards for children under 17 years of age. This could be answered by GHFT.
